The True humane heroes?
Women. There certainly are men in the humane movement. I'm one and have been involved in the movement for decade and I'm not the only...
What is;
“TNR”, TNIR”, “TNVR”, “TNRM”
These terms relate to feral (strays who have become unsocialized), or “community” cat clusters
found in buildings, woods, vacant lots, etc., wherever they congregate.
Housing, food and water is often provided by groups of humane, thoughtful individuals, who
endeavour to care for them.
In addition to the basic needs provided above, these same groups often engage in an essential
activity called:

“TNR” = Trap, Neuter, Return/Release or
“TNIR” = Trap, Neuter, Inoculate, Return/Release or
“TNVR” = Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return/Release or
“TNRM” = Trap, Neuter, Return/Release, Monitor
This process involved the humane trapping of community cats in colonies so that their health
and welfare can be determined, any medical issues resolved and spay/neutering to decrease the
likelihood of an increased number in the feral community. Once monitoring after surgery is
satisfied that health is acceptable, the cat is returned to the colony. In some cases, the still
sociable cats are kept and fostered until their forever homes are found.

Studies have proven that TNR is by far the most effective and humane way to assist community
cat colonies
